Home Theater SeatingGood home theater seating can be an important part of your home theater setup. Watching a movie or a sporting event can easily take up two to three hours, and doing it in a comfortable seat will greatly enhance your experience. Including individual reclining chairs (recliners) in your home theater seating arrangement can be a ticket to super comfort. Those are wide, soft, and recline far back. You can go overboard with those and get recliners with built in coolers (like the one George Costanza from Seinfeld got), speaker phones, and massagers. This chair might be a sports fan super lazy dream. The problem with reclining chairs is that they take a lot of space. A better home theater seating solution that can accommodate a whole family and guests, in super comfort, is a couch with individual reclines. Those couches come in two incarnations. The first looks like a regular couch (or love seat) except that each individual seating section can be separately reclined. The second looks like some individual reclining chairs put together, where adjacent seats share a single arm rest. This second arrangement does save much space because each seat is smaller than a separate reclining chair, and because of the common arm rests. A big advantage of the second type of couch, is that more seats can be added, to create a row with the number of chairs of your choice. Another nice touch to your home theater seating arrangement, which can be included with this type of couch, is arm rest cup holders.
